Srisun Express giving 3 free pratas to each Man U fan after 3-0 loss to Liverpool

Manchester United fans can enjoy three free pieces of plain prata at Srisun Express after their team suffered a 0-3 defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford on 2 September (Singapore time). The promotion, announced via Srisun Express’s Facebook page, is available from 8am to 11pm on Monday at any of their six outlets located in Bishan, Serangoon Garden, Ang Mo Kio, Hougang, Tampines, and Bukit Batok.

Background

This isn’t the first time Srisun Express has offered free pratas to Manchester United fans. On 6 March 2023, following a devastating 7-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield, the eatery gave away 6,780 pratas in a single day. Fans who showed up in Manchester United jerseys at any of the four Srisun Express outlets at the time were entitled to seven free pratas each. This marked the worst defeat for Manchester United since 1931 and was the first instance of such a promotion by the chain.

Previous promotions

The March promotion saw a significant turnout, with each fan in a Manchester United jersey receiving seven pratas. Srisun Express director Jayanthi Sundar explained that the initiative aimed to lift the spirits of disheartened fans. “We were quite prepared for about 10,000 to 12,000 pratas to be given away. We knew what the maximum was to give away, as we started the promo at about 12:30pm, and we knew over 12 hours what would happen,” Sundar told Fathership.

Srisun owners are Man U fans

The owners of Srisun Express are ardent Manchester United supporters themselves. The promotions are their way of commiserating with fellow fans after disappointing match results. Sundar noted that the free pratas could “at least put a smile on their faces” during tough times for the team.

Future implications

Given the success and positive reception of these promotions, it is likely that Srisun Express will continue to offer similar deals in the future, especially following significant match outcomes. This not only boosts customer engagement but also strengthens the community of Manchester United fans in Singapore. Fans can look forward to more such gestures from Srisun Express, making the eatery a go-to spot for both good food and football camaraderie.
