S’pore F1 night race to be screened live at 5 community hubs

Fans who couldn’t snag a ticket to the Formula One (F1) Singapore Grand Prix 2024 can still catch all the action at five community hubs in Singapore. The screenings will take place on September 21 and 22, providing an alternative for those who want to experience the excitement of the race.

Background

The People’s Association (PA) announced on September 17 that the screenings will be held at Our Tampines Hub, Heartbeat@Bedok, Keat Hong Community Club, Bishan Community Club, and Woodlands Galaxy Community Club. This initiative aims to bring the community together and ensure that everyone has a chance to enjoy the F1 spectacle, even if they couldn’t secure a ticket to the event itself.

Qualifying race and race day

The qualifying round for the grand prix will start at 9pm on September 21, while the race will begin at 8pm on September 22. Only Heartbeat@Bedok and Our Tampines Hub will stream the qualifying round on September 21. All five community clubs will be screening the race day on September 22.

Related events

This initiative is part of a broader effort to engage the community in major events. For instance, Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame is set to visit Singapore from September 18 to 23, 2024, highlighting the country’s growing international profile. Additionally, the Marina Bay Street Circuit, where the F1 race takes place, has been a focal point of various activities and installations, further enhancing the city’s vibrant atmosphere.

By providing these screenings, the PA ensures that the excitement of the F1 Singapore Grand Prix is accessible to a wider audience, fostering a sense of community and shared experience.
