Burger King S’pore to launch Spicy Chicken King burger with triple cheese, new glazed buns on Sep. 24, 2024

Burger King Singapore is set to launch a revamped version of its popular Spicy Chicken King burger on September 24, 2024. The new iteration features a trio of cheeses—American, Nacho, and Swiss—alongside a spicy, crispy chicken thigh patty, all sandwiched between newly introduced glazed buns. This update aims to enhance the burger’s flavour and texture, offering a fresh twist to an already beloved menu item.

Background

Burger King Singapore’s decision to update the Spicy Chicken King comes as part of a broader strategy to innovate and cater to evolving customer preferences. The introduction of glazed buns marks a significant change in the burger’s composition, promising a different mouthfeel and taste experience. This move is expected to attract both existing fans and new customers looking for a unique fast-food offering.

The cheesy trio

The new Spicy Chicken King is designed to delight cheese enthusiasts by incorporating three distinct types of cheese: American, Nacho, and Swiss. These cheeses complement the spicy chicken thigh patty and the barbecue sauce, creating a smoky and rich flavour profile. “The combination of the spicy patty with the trio of cheeses is a game-changer,” said a Burger King spokesperson. Additionally, for those who prefer beef, a 100 per cent flame-grilled triple cheese beef burger is also available.

Pricing and availability

Both the Triple Cheese Spicy Chicken King and the Triple Cheese Beef burgers will retail at S$8.90 for a value meal, which includes a side of fries and a drink. These new offerings will be available at all 67 Burger King outlets across Singapore. The original Spicy Chicken King will remain on the menu, priced at a promotional rate of S$6.95 (U.P. S$8.45) for a meal.

The OG

Fans of the original Spicy Chicken King need not worry, as the classic version will continue to be available. The original burger features a crispy chicken thigh patty topped with freshly shredded lettuce and creamy mayo, served on a sesame seed bun. This ensures that traditionalists can still enjoy their favourite meal while exploring the new cheesy options.

Future implications

Burger King’s latest menu update reflects a broader trend in the fast-food industry towards more diverse and flavourful offerings. By continually innovating, Burger King aims to maintain its competitive edge in Singapore’s crowded fast-food market. The success of these new menu items could pave the way for further culinary experiments and limited-time offers, keeping the brand fresh and exciting for its customers.
