30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto invites fans onstage at F1 S’pore Grand Prix show

American singer Jared Leto invited around eight audience members on stage while performing “Rescue Me” with his band, Thirty Seconds to Mars, at the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Grand Prix 2024 on the night of Sep. 20. Leto randomly selected the fans from the audience but requested that “at least one of them be Singaporean.” The excited fans danced and cheered with Leto, visibly thrilled by the experience.

Background

Thirty Seconds to Mars was one of the first acts to perform at this year’s F1 Singapore Grand Prix, which runs from Sep. 20 to Sep. 22. The race is scheduled to begin at 8pm on Sep. 22. Other artists set to perform over the weekend include One Republic, Kylie Minogue, and BabyMonster. The event is a significant highlight in Singapore’s annual calendar, attracting both local and international visitors.

More fans join the stage

When Leto began performing the band’s second song, “Closer to the Edge,” he invited even more audience members to join him onstage. This resulted in around 25 individuals gathering on stage, many of whom took videos with their phones. The spontaneous interaction added an extra layer of excitement to the performance.

Many celebrities spotted around Singapore

Earlier this week, Leto was seen at Funan Mall after climbing at Climb Central, a rock climbing gym in the mall, on Sep. 18. Other celebrities spotted around Singapore this week include Andras Istaan Arato, known for the “Hide the Pain Harold” meme, and Super Junior’s Choi Siwon. The qualifying round for the Grand Prix will start at 9pm on Sep. 21, while the race will begin at 8pm on Sep. 22.

Anticipation for the race

The F1 Singapore Grand Prix is not just about the race; it’s a cultural event that brings together music, entertainment, and celebrity sightings. Billionaire hotelier Ong Beng Seng was also seen at the event, engaging in conversations with race drivers. The convergence of such high-profile personalities adds to the glamour and excitement surrounding the Grand Prix.

The weekend promises to be a thrilling blend of high-speed racing and star-studded performances, making it a must-attend event for fans and visitors alike.
