Suspect in Verdun Road murder brought back to crime scene

A 22-year-old man accused of murdering a 25-year-old during a brawl on September 22 along Verdun Road was brought back to the crime scene on September 27. Muhammad Sajid Saleem, who faces the death penalty if found guilty, was accompanied by three others involved in the incident. Murder suspect revisits crime scene

Sajid was seen nodding in response to officers’ questions outside an eating house before being taken to another alleyway and then escorted back.

Second suspect

The second suspect arrived at 12:49 p.m., dressed in a white polo shirt and also in wrist and feet restraints. He gestured as officers questioned him while leading him through the alleyway. An evidence marker was placed as he answered questions. He was escorted back by officers at 1:19 p.m.

Third suspect

The third man arrived around 1:30 p.m. Wearing a white polo tee and glasses, he followed the same route as the previous suspects. He was seen gesturing and pointing as officers asked questions. His turn concluded at 1:55 p.m.

Fourth suspect

The final suspect arrived at around 2:07 p.m. The man, who had calf tattoos and wore a white polo tee with wrist and feet restraints, was also led along the same route. He answered officers’ questions and left the scene at around 2:34 p.m.

Others involved in brawl

In addition to the four men, two women have been charged in connection with the brawl. Nur Diyana Harun Al Rasheed and Kasthuri Kallidas Marimuthu, both 24, were revealed during a court hearing to have caused hurt to Dhinessh and two others, Naviinjaay C. Nathan and K. Vicknesh.
