Singapore doctor charged for penetrating 14-year-old and sexual offences with minors

A 39-year-old doctor, Lim Yong Chin, has been charged in court with numerous offences, including sexual crimes against teenagers, cheating national healthcare groups and multiple traffic offences. Lim, who is the founder and director of Access Medical Clinics group, faces a total of 28 charges, including sexual penetration of a minor and sexual exploitation of a child or young person.
The courts imposed a gag order to protect the identities of Lim's alleged victims. The offences include penetration of a minor, voyeurism and filming without consent. Lim reportedly touched a 14-year-old inappropriately between March and April 2021, made her perform a sexual act on him, and recorded young females without their consent.
Lim is also charged with cheating the National Healthcare Group Polyclinics and SingHealth Polyclinics into disbursing Community Health Assist Scheme subsidies for fictitious claims, as well as driving under suspension and driving a motor vehicle without insurance. If convicted, Lim faces a jail term of up to 10 years and a fine up to $10,000. He has been offered bail of S$120,000 and is scheduled to appear in court again on 15 March 2023.
