A newlywed couple's life was tragically cut short on Monday morning, when a fatal accident on Tampines Expressway claimed the life of a 26-year-old woman. Yasmin Abdullah, who had been a pillion on one of the motorcycles involved, was on her way to work, with her husband, 29-year-old Muhammad Zahid Abdul Gaffar, sending her off. While Zahid survived the accident, he sustained serious injuries and underwent several surgeries. The minibus driver involved was arrested for careless driving causing death.

Friends and family members of the victim spoke highly of Yasmin's character, describing her as a happy, funny, and lovable person. She had been working as a dental assistant for six years and had dreams of furthering her studies despite struggling with Crohn's Disease. Her father shared that the wedding was the sweetest moment of her life, and that Zahid was a devoted husband who frequently sent her to work despite working from home himself. The tragedy ended her life and her dreams.
