Another of China's state-run newspapers has taken a jab at Australia for its relationship with the United States - by sharing a mocking cartoon.

The China Daily, an English-language paper owned by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, shared the illustration online on Monday.

Another of the Communist Party's government-controlled news outlets, the Global Times, warned Australia's economy would be dealt a "Fatal blow" if it stood by the US."It would be extremely dangerous for Canberra to become a player in a diplomatic club led by the US, given Australia's high dependence on the Chinese economy," the editorial read."Once Australia is regarded as a supporter of the US in a new cold war, China-Australia economic ties will inevitably suffer a fatal blow."
